The Learning Support teachers provide support to
students who need some support with their learning in literacy and numeracy.
This support may be provided in either small groups or on
an individual basis. Group support usually occurs in the classroom under
the direction of the classroom teacher. Students are identified for
support through data collected by the classroom teachers that reflect the student’s
achievements. Sometimes extra paraprofessionals (teacher aides) are allocated
to the classroom groups to support the students
